A son needs to ask his estranged dad an unusual, but important question. The conversation that follows, while strange and crude becomes a marker of how far a father will go to win back his son’s affection. At its core, A Reasonable Request is a story about the complex relationship between father and son but the use of colourful and risqué dialogue makes it so much more than that. Internally you will be screaming “what the hell” after hearing some of the strange things that were said. Despite all this, the production value is high and the writing is good, which is probably what go this film accepted into Sundance.
