Director Till Nowak’s short film Dissonance is a mixture of fantasy and reality. A sad story about a psychotic old street musician who struggles to accept reality. The film switches from live action to animation – the animation is used to portray the pianist’s fantasy world.
The visual effects in this film were stunning as the pianist played on a revolving piano, the floor, ceiling and buildings became abstract at times which was done in an impressive way. The music is also another asset to this short film as it set the tone and portrayed the old man’s manic mind.
