Elefante tells the story of Manuel, a man stuck in a dead end, repetitive job. Trapped in a cycle where everyday is the same and his only friend doesn’t like him, Manuel is struck with more bad news. His whole world changes when he discovers he is diagnosed with a strange incurable disease that has him slowly turn into an elephant.
Elefante manages to be charming, humorous and sad at the right times. I especially love the way the relationship between Manuel and his young son is presented. It’s surprisingly touching and has a solid narrative.
