Lichen is a short romance film that presents the lives of two people brought together by coincidence. A young guy sees a girl in a cafe.
The two meet up later on in life by chance and realise that they are meant to be together. Although the film ends in tragedy, it does a great job in building characters and engaging audiences in the storyline; this can be especially difficult without the use of dialogue. It also has stunning cinematography which especially works well in the narrative during the split screen sequence in the middle of the film.
