Nadim studies hard and respects his parents. He plays by the rules, which cannot be said for his sister Sahar.
She is rebellious, which is a strong contrast to her conservative Afghan family. One night, after coming home late, Nadim refuses to let her in which triggers a chain of events that eventually leads to a police interrogation. “Where do you think she went?” Sahar is an engaging drama that subverts the usual conventions of a traditional crime mystery. The strength of this film is in the writing which presents us with typical character archetypes through an immigrant viewpoint.
